February is for lovers as we decorate with hearts and gift our special someone a huge box of chocolates. Aside from the big day on the 14th, there are plenty of other events happening this month all across the Sunshine State that celebrate Florida pride. We’ve chosen a few of them to share on this page and you can find a comprehensive list here.
Pride Of The Americas
February 10-12
The first Pride Of The Americas festival features guests from around the world and most events will take place on the gorgeous sandy beaches of Ft. Lauderdale. This three-day celebration includes dance parties and concerts (Boy George!!), and will culminate with a parade down scenic GAY1A (Route A1A) along the beach, followed by a massive beach party featuring internationally recognized performers. LGBTQ+ Game Night
February 13
The First Unity Spiritual Campus in St. Petersburg is thrilled to host its monthly LGBTQ+ Game Night. Here, you’ll find traditional board games, card games, adult coloring books, and tables where you can just sit and chat. Feel free to bring a snack to share. Some drinks will be available but if you’d like something specific, you can bring it with you.
ReadOut Festival
February 17-19
You can join the 6th Annual ReadOut Festival live in Gulfport or virtually via Zoom. This festival is a celebration of LGBTQ+ literature and will feature published and emerging authors from across the LGBTQ+ and allied communities. There will be panels, workshops, and individual readings.
Love & Pride (Teens and Adults)
February 18
This event is open to teens and adults (12 and up) and will take place at Painting With A Twist in Boynton Beach. Guests can choose LOVE or PRIDE (or both!) as they create their own unique masterpieces. Feel free to BYOB and snacks (must be 21 to consume alcohol).
ALSO Youth Annual Prom: Disco Party!
February 18
Another option for youth ages 14-20 is the Disco Party Prom presented by ALSO (Advocacy – Leadership – Support – Outreach) in Sarasota. They’re taking it back to the days of the 70s so grab your grandma’s bell bottoms and get ready to dance the night away. You can see all of the ALSO Youth events here.
40th Annual State Of The Chamber Luncheon
February 22
Join the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber of Commerce as it celebrates 2022’s achievements as well as the Chamber’s vision for the future. Installation of new leadership as well as honoring current and past community leaders make this luncheon truly special. Finally, the event will feature the announcement of the 2022-2023 Impact Awards, honoring those individuals and organizations that have made a positive impact on the Tampa Bay area.
