Top 4 Ways Our Tampa STI Testing Center Serves The Community
August 16, 2023Gender-Affirming Care – What It Is And How We Can Help
September 6, 2023Harmony Healthcare is pleased to announce that we are now offering Orlando LGBTQ primary care services! Come see us for all of your healthcare needs.
Our mission has always been to provide our LGBTQ community with the most inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming healthcare services available. We have been serving Central Florida for many years, giving all residents the ability to come in for STI testing and treatment. We also love to connect our community to non-medical resources in our area such as food banks, transportation services, and more.
And we’re not done yet!
We are proud to now offer primary care services in our Orlando clinic! Our caring medical staff can help you manage not only your sexual health, but your overall health as well. Our nurse practitioners will lock arms with you to address your health concerns and dedicate time to your primary care needs.
What Is Primary Care?
Simply put, primary care is your healthcare home. It’s the place you go for all of your medical questions and concerns. Your primary care provider offers comprehensive medical treatment from the top of your head to your pinky toe. And the best part is that your primary care provider will get to know you and your medical history which will help them better care for your future medical needs.
Focus On Wellness And Prevention
The main focus of primary care is keeping you healthy. This means you won’t need to come visit us as much but that’s okay! As your healthcare go-to provider, we will:
- Examine your medical history.
- Offer routine vaccinations as well as vaccinations to keep you protected from annual illnesses like flu, pneumonia, and COVID.
- Provide testing and screenings (STI testing is still offered, don’t worry!).
- Talk with you about things that can make a positive impact on your overall health.
- Conduct exams and chat about any of your health concerns.
Acute and Chronic Conditions
As a primary care provider, we can also help when you have minor issues pop up like a twisted ankle or a sore throat. Acute healthcare concerns need prompt responses, and we are here to help you.
In partnership with a specialist, primary care doctors can also help you manage long-term, chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes. This is important because when chronic conditions are not properly managed, they can turn into more serious illnesses.
What Can Nurse Practitioners Do?
Our highly-skilled nurse practitioners are trained to prevent, diagnose, and treat a variety of conditions. They can help you manage your health by prescribing medications and creating treatment plans.
Our nurse practitioner team is a valuable part of our Orlando LGBTQ primary care services. Giving our residents access to broader healthcare is a prescription for a healthier community!
Harmony Healthcare Is Focused On Your Overall Health
Primary care gives us the chance to encompass more healthcare options for our patients, not less. We will still offer STI testing, STI treatment, transportation services, and assistance with non-medical resources like food and employment. And don’t forget about the free condoms!
To make an appointment for our Orlando LGBTQ primary care services or our new Wellness Exams, you can fill out this contact form or call our offices. If you’re unable to come in for an appointment, we offer TeleHealth services so you can see our medical professionals on your phone or computer.
